Blog Post #8

The Dynavision D2 system allows athletes to train their perceptual vision. It allows athletes to improve their peripheral awareness and process multiple tasks more efficiently and rapidly. I believe that the Dynavison D2 can be used to help students who have ADHD. It would allow students to reads books that are prompted on the screen while touching the lit buttons to increase comprehension. It could be used as a fun game for students. As a math teacher, you could have mathematic problems on the screen that students must answer while trying to touch the buttons that are lit up.

I will use PowerPoint to support student learning at each level of Bloom’s Taxonomy.  The first level of the Bloom’s Taxonomy is “Remember” PowerPoint can help students remember but teachers can have slides with definitions of words that are important to the topic. The second level is “understand” PowerPoints can provide notes to help the student comprehend the topic. The third level is “apply” it could help students to use information in new situations.  Teachers can create demonstrate different scenarios to help students comprehend the topic.
The fourth level is “analyze” to draw connection among ideas. Teachers can create comparison charts for students to understand what to topics have in common. The fifth level is to “evaluate” to justify a stand or decision. Teachers can make PowerPoints into a fun game where students can have a debate on a topic to increase comprehension and public speaking.
The sixth level is to “create” to produce new or original l work. As teacher you can make your PowerPoint presentation as creative as you like. You could use music, pictures, graphs, different fonts and many more to appeal to your liking.

  1. Was the Dynavision D2 the machine that had the little red dots lit up? Haha. That one was fun to watch AND I also do remember the host of the psych lab telling us kids with ADHD would benefit the most from that. It was one of favorite pieces of technology from the lab.

  2. The Dynavision D2 machine was my favorite machine in the lab as well! I think that it is a great resource for students who deal with hyperactivity. I enjoyed watching my classmates (try to) do it as well!

  3. I think Dynavision D2 could help ADHD kids too because since they always want to be moving around instead of just sitting in one place for a long time, I believe that doing work while trying to press the lights would help them use their energy in the right way.
