ILP#3 Tinkercab
The software Tinkercab is used for 3-d printing. It give you the opportunity to create different shapes into beautiful word of art. As an Educator i could use Tinkercab to make different objects come to life. I could make 3-d letters for my students so they could learn the how to create three letters words. If there was a model that i wanted to create but i could not make it myself there is a way they i could upload images and it would create it for me. Also i believe that Tinkercab can be used well with students who have learning disabilities. It would be easier from them to write out letters if they can have a model that they can touch. The program was user-friendly, any grade level would benefit from it.

Hey Chassidi! Tinkercad sounds so cool and innovative! I would love to use this to make name plates for my student. They could learn how to use the program, which I believe fulfills a CPALMS coding standard. I've never really heard of this program, but it sounds like a great way to help students (probably younger students) learn letters, numbers and spelling. I found a cool blog with a bunch of tips and tricks on how to navigate Tinkercad. The blog article that I attached explains some of the basic "etiquette" of Tinkercad. I think that this would be a great article to show to students before they engage with the program. https://blog.tinkercad.com/2015/11/13/the-10-commandments-of-tinkercad-aka-dont-ban-me-bro/
ReplyDeleteHey Chassidi! I also used TinkerCad. Lizzy posted on my blog that there are some safety concerns out there about 3D printers. Here are 2 websites about it. What do you think? http://3dprinting.com/news/safe-3d-printing/

Thank you for sharing that site with me. It is very interesting to hear that some people believe that 3-d printer aren't safe.
DeleteThis sounds like a pretty cool program/tool! It is amazing the types of technology we have available to us these days. Have you ever 3D printed anything? I am super stoked to try and convince the Tech Sandbox to let me print something in there before i graduate! haha!!
